Important Dates for 2023 fair

August 5, 2022
- Teacher Registration opens. Register at http://www.sefi.org/register/
- SRC Pre-Experimentation Review opens.
   (Senior Division only) For projects that involve human subjects and animals

January 13, 2023
- Deadline for SRC Pre-Experimentation Review.
   (Senior Division only) For projects that involve human subjects and animals

February 10, 2023
- Teacher Registration deadline
- Student project registration deadline
 Register only the students who are advancing to NEIRSEF
   (All Divisions) On the SEFI web site, include: address, phone, grade, date of birth, project title, and category.
   Check the box to indicate whether your display needs electricity. Gender and ethnicity is optional but requested.

   (Junior Division - 6th-8th) In addition to the items above, complete the research plan and abstract
   (Senior Division) Complete the research plan and abstract and the appropriate ISEF forms. Contact us for help.

The date for the 2022 Regional fair has CHANGED. The new date will be Saturday, March 19, 2022. NEIRSEF will return to the Walb Student Union on the campus of Purdue University Fort Wayne as an in person event. Stay tuned for more information!

March 21, 2021

Congratulations to all of the researchers presenting their work at the 2021 virtual Northeast Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair! The PowerPoint from the Award Ceremony may now be downloaded from the "Past Results" tab on the left hand side of the web site. Submitted Abstracts from the 2021 Fair may also be viewed.

Posters and videos may be viewed at https://gather.town/app/rsAuBVAR5mucmpB6/NEIRSEF for at least the next 30 days. Now that presentations are complete, the gather.town site will be opened to the public.

The regional fair will be held virtually on Saturday, March 20, 2021. I will be updating this website over the next couple days to include specifics for all involved. January 7, 2021

The regional fair will be held virtually on Saturday, March 20, 2021. Students in grades K-12 are invited to participate. This website will be updated over the next few days to include specifics for all involved. Two weeks prior to the fair, students will upload video presentations of their research, as well as a digital poster. On the date of the fair, students will meet virtually using gather.town. Using an avatar, you can stand by your poster and present to judges via video. Press X on your keyboard to display your digital poster. Move to the television and press X to watch your video presentation. Or move to the stand beside your poster and press X to display your quad chart and other digitized documents. Familiarize yourself with gather.town by clicking the following URL:

Visit booth 21 to get a sense of what it will look like. Please note that you must use a Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser.

The regional fair goes virtual for March 2021! Students will have the opportunity to upload a short video explaining their project AND to meet with judges in a soon-to-be-determined virtual fair space. Watch this space for more details!

January 17 is the Pre-Experimentation Review deadline for high school projects ONLY. Middle school and elementary school projects (grades 4-8) are not subject to pre-review - see the Junior rules book for more information.

Save the Date!!! Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 9am to noon we will have a Teacher workshop. Dr. Perkins Coppola will share several resources for student science and engineering projects, reveal how to set up a local IRB for social science projects, and help you cut through the red tape of paperwork for registration. PGPs available.

If you have high school students interested in doing research, please let Dr. Perkins Coppola know ASAP. A group is forming to analyze data from variable stars and discover exoplanets, and there is room for 2-3 students to join in the fun!
