Junior & Senior Division Registration Procedures

Teachers must be registered on the SEFI (Science Education Foundation of Indiana) website. If you have not previously registered, go to www.sefireg.org under New Teacher Registration.

Junior Division grades 4-8 Regional Fair Registration
Opens in Feb - Feb. 19

Q:   How many regional fair entries can a school have?

A: New Junior Division (grades 4-8) We encourage schools to send one student from each allowable grade however if you feel your best projects are from the same grade, you may send two from a grade as long as you don't exceed the total allowable entries from your type of school.
Elementary schools with grades K-5: 2 entries MAXIMUM; one project from each grade: 4th, 5th
Elementary schools with grades K-6: 3 entries MAXIMUM; one project from each grade: 4th, 5th, & 6th
Middle schools with grades 6-8: 3 entries MAXIMUM; one project from each grade: 6th, 7th, & 8th
Jr/Senior High Schools with grades 7-12: 2 entries total; one project from each grade : 7th & 8th

High schools with grades 9-12: 5 senior division entries MAXIMUM
*Team projects (2- 3 members) are counted as one entry

1) Teacher's register students for the Regional Fair at www.sefireg.org
For team projects, enter all team member names then go to "Group Project Wizard" to link as a team.

2) Student & teacher completes the required SEFI online info including abstract (4th & 5th projects do not need an abstract for the regional fair)

3) Remit the project entry fee of $10. Check or money order must be made payable to IPFW (cash cannot be accepted). Please indicate your school and the names of the registrants. Payment must be received by 5 PM on Thursday, March 3 and may be mailed to:

Senior Division grades 9-12 Regional Fair Registration
Senior Division = 5 projects
Each school that includes grades 9-12 may register a total of 5 eligible student projects encompassing those four grades. A team project may have up to 3 students. This counts as one project for advancement to the regional fair.
  • Senior Division teachers must register themselves before a student can access the site for online eligibility questions and ISEF forms.
  • Senior Division students must complete student and project information. Completed, signed ISEF forms can be uploaded on the SEFI website www.sefireg.org
  • All projects that required SRC Pre-Experimentation Review must have completed this eligibility process by Friday, Jan. 27, 2017.
  • On the SEFI website, Senior Division teachers are able to register their eligible students for the Regional Fair by clicking both the Approved and Regional button to YES on the student listing page.
  • For team projects, enter all team member names then go to "Group Project Wizard" to link as a team.
