We are looking for adult participants for a research project.
The goal of this project is to create a database of recorded speech that will be used by future researchers to study speech production and perception (for example, parameters like articulation rate, intelligibility, phonetics and phonology, language differences, etc.).
The link below will take you to information about the full details of the study. After reading it, if you agree to participate, you will be asked a small number of general questions (your age, languages you speak, and your geographic location).
You will be provided with 3 lists of phrases in English and asked to record yourself reading the first list and, optionally, either of the additional two. Then you will be asked to upload your recordings to the secure form. We estimate that this should take you approximately 10-25 minutes (not counting breaks if you need any).
These phrase lists are all available through the data collection form. They are repeated here for reference. Citation information is provided in each list.
Link to the location of the speechbank and other updates will be posted here. If you are interested, you can read about the FITI Framework.
