The TENL program can be added to your major or taken as a stand-alone credential. TENL courses can be completed in 3-4 semesters (1.5-2 years).

YOUR PATHWAYS
Degree-seeking student
- Undergraduate (Bachelor’s)
- Graduate/Post-baccalaureate (Master’s)
For those who want to teach abroad
- TENL certificate
- Your major + TENL certificate
- Your Master's program + TENL certificate
For those who want to teach in U.S. schools
- Bachelor's of Science in Education + TENL (i.e. ELL) licensure
- Teachers who already hold a teaching license complete the TENL program to qualify for the add-on license in the content area of “Teachers of English Learners”.
- Individuals who would like to teach in the U.S. but do not yet have their teaching license should first consider the Transition to Teaching program before adding the TENL certificate.
