ABOUT US
The Teaching English as a New Language Program (also known as TESOL) equips individuals with the knowledge, skills, and pre-professional education needed to effectively work with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and for careers in teaching the English language in the USA or abroad. With mentorship from our faculty, students will also be prepared for career paths related to applied linguistics, international development, and indigenous language education. Our program is accredited, recognized by the Indiana Department of Education, and meets the TESOL International Association’s Standards for Initial TESOL Pre-K-12 Teacher Preparation Programs.

Undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in teaching the English language
In-service teachers who want to obtain ELL certification/ add-on ELL licensure

Students gain teaching experience by leading their own English language classes online through our English Language Partners (ELP) program.

We are a small program which provides an opportunity for all the students enrolled to closely work directly with the faculty.
