Junior/Senior Division (grades 6-12) Eligibility Procedures
for the Northeast Indiana Regional Science & Engineering Fair on March 19, 2011

All research must follow proper guidelines and protocol for the safety of the researcher and the subject. Projects that involve humans, animals, or potentially hazardous biological agents need to be reviewed for proper protocol PRIOR to starting. All projects in grades 6-12 must answer questions to determine what protocol and safety guidelines are required to be followed in order to be eligible for the fair.

Enter your project information at the SEFI site Senior Division Online Eligibility Project Registration
Your teacher needs to have signed up on the SEFI site to receive their teacher code. You will use this code to log-in.

Complete the information, answer the questions, and complete the ISEF forms required.

If your project requires "Pre-Experimentation Review" by the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) at IPFW
Submit ISEF paperwork to the IPFW Regional Fair Liaison, Caryl Spira, by the Pre-Review deadline date of January 28, 2011. No other regional fair forms are required. Fill in your student information and answer the 3 questions.

If you answered "yes" to any of the 3 questions your project will require "Pre-Experimentation Review" by the Scientific Review Committee (SRC) at IPFW. Complete the Junior Division Regional Approval form and research plan to submit for Pre-Experimentation Review.
- If your project DOES Require Pre-Experimentation Review your teacher will submit student’s Approval Form and Research Plan to IPFW for SRC (Scientific Review Committee) review before experimentation. Once the paperwork is reviewed, it will be returned to the teacher with recommendations. The mailing address to submit forms is Regional Science & Engineering Fair, IPFW, 2101 E. Coliseum Blvd. ET 243, Fort Wayne, IN 46805 or fax 260-481-5734. The Pre-Review deadline date is January 28, 2011. For questions, call 260-481-5756 or email scifair@ipfw.edu
- If your project DOES NOT Require Pre-Experimentation Review: If a project does not require Pre-Experimentation Review (student answers all questions “no”), complete the Approval Form and begin your project. Do not mail the Approval Form to IPFW unless you are chosen to advance to the regional fair.
ALL Junior division students who are CHOSEN to attend the regional fair need to submit 3 items for POST-Experimentation review. These are: 1) Approval Form, 2) a Research Plan, and 3) an Abstract. The abstract is a summary of the research results in a paragraph written in a WORD document.This is submitted at the time of fair registration; no later than March 4, 2011.
