Sponsor a Special Award

Special Awards Sponsorships recognize students for achievements based on criteria of the sponsor's choice. The diversity these awards provide allows more students to receive recognition for their work. These awards generate enthusiasm as students interact with the judges who represent local organizations focusing on specific fields of study. Purdue FW works closely with Special Award sponsors to make certain that each organization’s award is handled to their satisfaction.

Volunteer Policy

Purdue FW is committed to providing a safe environment for outreach activities involving students and we are required to follow the Purdue Policy for volunteers who interact in any capacity with minors. To that end, anyone who has agreed to volunteer is asked to participate in the Purdue volunteer process prior to the event.

All Volunteers, including Purdue FW faculty, staff, or students, will be screened against both the national and state Sex and Violent Offender Registry and complete a short training on youth protection. Details on the youth protection training will be emailed to you at a later date.

Any individual listed on a registry that is part of the University’s Sex and Violent Offender Registry Check or who has been convicted of an offense for which he or she must register as a sex or violent offender may not serve as a Volunteer. Volunteers must show a valid ID (drivers license is acceptable) at check-in table.

If you feel that you cannot complete the short training or would rather not provide the personal information required for the background checks, then please inform the fair director (Dr. Coppola) as soon as possible as you will be unable to volunteer for this event.

We thank you so much in advance for your extra time and cooperation in helping us adhere to the Purdue Volunteer policy that will be another step toward creating the safest possible environment for students and you at PFW outreach events.
