A small tree to 30 feet tall. It has white flowers and orange to red fruit which is eaten by many species of birds. Leaves have 13 to 17 leaflets. Winter buds are sticky. Possibly the hardiest of Mountainash which grow in the United States. Always rare in Indiana, the last native tree was found in Pokagon State Park, but has since died.
