Post Oak is a white oak type. In Indiana, it is restricted to the south where it occupies rocky or sandy ridges and dry woodlands. It is slow growing and drought resistant. The wood resists rot when in contact with the soil, and has been used for fence posts. Leaves are densely hairy below.
