Dotted Hawthorn is a small tree 20-35 feet in height. Its branches have mostly straight thorns 2-3 inches in length. It has a profuse display of white flowers in the spring. Its red fruits ripen in the fall and drop quickly. The fruits have small dark dots from which its common name is derived.
